This is why I am doing this....this is what I looked like on March 2nd, 2012 at 259lbs.
I look tired, old, WAY too big and like I'm about 8 months pregnant again.
I'm not cool with this at all.
I've started the MediFast and am on Day 3. I'm managing ok and am very glad that I started this on a weekend.
I'd been told and read that the first few days on the program would be rough due to basically detoxing from carbs and sugar. Well, I can tell you that it is the god's honest truth. The first two days were ROUGH. I felt like complete crap - tired beyond belief, had a constant, dull headache and hungry. I expected the tired/headache but I hadn't really expected the hunger. The MediFast meals were not fulfilling at all, I was hungry literally 15-20 minutes after eating. It was brutal, but I soldiered through and did not give in to it.
The MediFast meals are going to take a little getting used to. I typically have not opted for anything with artificial sweetners in it for ever - I could always taste it and didn't like it at all. I can certainly taste the artificial sweetners used in the MediFast meals. I'm not wild about it - but I'll get used to it I'm sure. In the mean time, I might be using mints or drinking peppermint tea a little more.
B has been incredibly supportive, offering encouragement and exercising his cooking skills with some wonderful "lean and green" dinners for us. Eating better dinners are going to be great for the whole family.
Today has not been as bad. The hunger has not been as pronounced and although I'm still tired and feeling weak, it has been a much better day. I'm hoping I'll feel even better tomorrow.
My plan is to weigh myself on Monday, Wednesday and Friday - just to keep an eye on things, and track my progress. I'm looking forward to tomorrow being the first weigh in that I'm going to track. I'm not expecting too much, but some movement downward would certainly be a nice shot in the arm.
